The event was held recently at the Social Welfare Office in Kono.

Speaking during the distribution, Minister Karminty conveyed warm greetings from His Excellency Julius Maada Bio and emphasized that the gesture was part of the government’s sustained agenda to empower persons with disabilities, especially. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive national development.

The Minister highlighted the strengthened mandate of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) to provide assistive devices, skills training, and livelihood support, and to enforce the protective Disability Act. She stated that the Ministry and the Commission would continue to collaborate on concrete interventions in #education, #agriculture, and certification.

In response, the NCPD Chairperson, Brima Sheriff, stressed that the donation was a direct response to identified needs, not mere charity. He commended the Minister for translating community engagement into tangible support.
